Valentine's Day Fun!

Happy Valentine's Day!!  Ok, just a couple weeks late I know.  But hoping everyone was shown some love on Valentine's Day.  We sure had fun here both preparing for Valentine's Day and enjoying the day.

Here are what the kids' valentines looked like this year.  They both had a couple designs but these were my favorite.  Megan's birthday is pirate themed this year so we decided to take b-day party invite and Valentine card pictures in the hat.  I think it turned out pretty cute!  I left plenty of room at the bottom for her to sign her name and add a heart sticker.  With her having to write out a valentine for everyone in her class plus family members I think she did about 30 in total.  I'm so proud of Megan for sticking with it to the very end!  (She even wrote out one for herself - and when she goes through her bag of valentines she always stops at hers and says how much she loves it!!  I like that she made it very personal for every member of her class.)

Owen is in love with Thomas and trains lately so his was only appropriate.  H wanted him to hold the signs but we ended up with this instead!

Then, I was so glad I could take some time off of work to go to Megan's Valentine's Day party at preschool!  She was sooo glad Mommy could come.  They started out with a snack of red velvet puppy chow and M&Ms  Put a smile on everyone's faces.

Then there was a series of Minute To Win It challenges.  Kids were supposed to stack 10 candy hearts in a minute.  This one was tough for the kiddos.  Next challenge was to blow a candy heart across the table.  Megan started going the wrong way at first but eventually got there.

There was an adorable craft project too where kids were given a picture of a bare tree and put pink finger prints on the branches as cherry blossoms.  So adorable!  Lastly, a game of pass the heart.  When the music stopped kids got prizes.  Prizes were glow in the dark bracelets and necklaces which came in handy during the glow-in-the-dark dance party!!!  Megan is pretty clingy to Mommy, except when dancing is involved.  She was a dancing queen!!

Here is just a third of Megan's preschool class since they split up into smaller groups for the party stations.  The other girl is her friend since birth, Nora.  Cutest part about this was when the teacher told the kids to smile and show their teeth.  Megan had to physically touch her teeth to make sure they were revealed!  What a fun morning and I am so glad I could share it with her!
