To start with, it may sound cute when Megan says, "Owen's leaving you a present!" But after cleaning an average of 5-6/day of those "presents" for a few days straight you just start to say "Ugh". Yep, he had been teething so you know what the presents looked like. Anyway, gross as it was, the tooth has cut through and back to normal!
I don't know if I mentioned it before but our dryer is on the outs. There is a control panel that is going out and needs to replaced but it's kind of pricey and we've just been putting it off. It used to just be bad when it was super cold and windy out but it's gotten worse. I had to do some laundry earlier last week and the dryer wouldn't even keep running. I was only getting 45 second intervals out of it along with the ever-annoying beeping. Ugh!! It seems to be a bit better today and we just keep it unplugged when not in use. Guess I will be calling Home Service Plus this week!
Megan's bedtime.... Ugh... I guess Mommy's just too much of a pushover because for three nights last week she was up until 10:30 and wouldn't go to bed unless we were in our bed together - since we're "best friends" and all... She has given us every excuse in the book: My leg got out, I need a treat, There are ants in my bed, I'm lonely... We're not sure if it's because she likes sleeping with me or in our bed but it's only Daddy who can get her to bed. And she is still ending up in our bed in the morning. Help!
Then on Wednesday night I got a message from our church organist wanting to see if I could play for a service at Trinity on Saturday night! Ugh... only three days to practice!!! It turned out just fine (and the piano is fantastic) but I had never played piano there before so I was pretty nervous. I was able to go up to church on Friday night to practice which also, coincidentally, meant that I wouldn't be there for Megan's bedtime :) Am I sneaky or what?

Bedtime...ugh, I hear ya... Ashley has been a saint w/ bedtime since day one. Bennett on the other hand... So here is what we have done during the past years that has somewhat helped with his bedtime. I don't know how well this would work for you since Owen and Megan share a room though. But we seriously have locked Bennett into his bedroom by putting a childproof lock on the inside so that he can't get out. For a week or so it was alittle rough since he'd cry wanting to get out. But after awhile he would just give up and go to sleep. And it got better every night. Then, I'd open the door before I went to bed so that he could get out if he really needed to overnight. Also, there were many months when he wanted me to "sleep with me" every night. So for a long while I'd lay down with him for 5 minutes and that was usually good enough. But, I got out of that routine by simply telling him that I couldn't, I didn't have time, I had work to do, I had to go tell Mike goodnight, I had bills to pay etc. Any excuse so that he realized I was busy and couldn't stay with him any longer after the books were read. This really has seemed to help and he understands that after the books are read, it really is bedtime and I am not staying with him. Good luck!
